Lillian Oswald grew up in the Bronx (NY) and took
dancing lessons at the Vinnie Roberts Dance Studio. In her teens she went into New York
City to study dance at the Jack Stanley Dance Studio. Lillian worked with the Hal Sands
Manhattan Rockets Dance Troupe where she met alot of her "soon to be Rockette" friends.
She worked at the Music Hall most of 1953.
Lillian married her high school sweetheart, Richard. They have two daughters, two
great sons-in-law and 5 wonderful grandchildren. Three of them live in Mahwah, NJ and
the other two live in Branchburg, NJ. Lillian and Richard are living in Flemington, NJ,
close enough to enjoy both families. Lillian enjoys playing tennis indoors in the winter
and outdoors in the summer. She takes exercise classes at the YMCA on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Fridays and loves to go biking in between.
Lillian enjoyed her years on the Rockette Alumnae board and dancing with the
"Breathless Twelve," especially doing the Mike Douglas and Jack Parr Shows.
She says, "The reunion for the 75th Anniversary and the Christmas in August event in the
city was a memorable experience," and [she] "looks forward to many more years of
association with a unique and wonderful group of gals." |
